The ‘Operations Manager (Cards)‘ will report directly to the Chief Officer Centralized Operations (CCOO) and will be a critical player in the development and growth of a new Credit Card Product whilst also in charge of maintaining the existing Prepaid Cards and Retail Deposits propositions.

This is a very challenging position that requires a proactive individual to hit the ground running, ensure completion of the new projects within stipulated timeframes, take over the team and processes quickly and be able to provide tangible improvements to the operational flow, policies and procedures.

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Be a critical player in the development and growth of the new Bank Credit Card Product from a research, analysis, implementation and day to day operational perspective;
  • Be fully responsible of the Bank’s relationships with the Card Schemes and Card Production third parties;
  • Assist in the management of the relationship of the third party core banking system supplier;
  • Work closely with the Project Management team for all related projects;
  • Be fully responsibly for adherence with Card Scheme regulations and obligations;
  • Work closely with the Bank’s compliance department to ensure adherence with all relevant laws and regulations;
  • Assist the CCOO in managing and growing the Cards Backoffice Operations function;
  • Manage day to day operations including card production and fulfilment, transaction processing, customer support, reconciliations and other product related activities;
  • Take full ownership of the existent Prepaid Cards / Retail Deposit products and systems from an operational perspective;
  • Lead any new products / projects related to Prepaid Cards / Retail Deposits from an operational perspective;
  • Perform analysis and propose improvements to current work practices with a focus on system automation;
  • Take ownership of all related documentation including Terms and Conditions, Product Websites, Internal Policies and Procedures, Internal Operational Guides and External User Guides;
  • Assist the CCOO in communication with all relevant third party providers from contract stages to subsequent technical integration and daily usage;
  • Keep adjourned with industry standards especially in relation to Card Products and Card Scheme mandates;
  • Report regularly to the CCOO on projects status, KPI’s, suggested improvements and specific issues;
  • Execute ad hoc tasks as may be requested by the CCOO.

Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Banking, Business or equivalent;
  • 5+ years’ experience within a similar banking role;
  • Experience with Card Products and VISA / Mastercard;
  • Experience with setup and management of a third party core banking system;
  • Good Knowledge of KYC, Fraud and AML best practices;
  • Exceptional communication and organisation skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment;
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise work;
  • Ability to work on own initiative. 
  • The following are considered an asset:
    o Experience with NAVISION;
    o General accounting experience;
