Novum Bank Ltd is looking for a diligent individual to work with the Bank’s Chief Officer – Risk and Compliance in the role of Risk Manager, with increased focus on Operational Risk.

Responsibilities

  • Drawing up policies and procedures and keep updated with risk related regulatory requirements; 
  • Designing and implementing risk management processes and tools to identify, measure, manage and report risks;
  • Conduct analyses of enterprise-wide risks including regulatory, legal, liquidity, concentration, operational (increased focus) and other risks; 
  • Maintaining ICAAP and ILAAP processes and assisting in the compilation of the Bank’s ICAAP and ILAAP reports; 
  • Managing the Bank's internal control systems and risk management framework; 
  • Maintaining the Bank’s risk register, including holding Risk Control Self-Assessment sessions with the various departments; 
  • Assist in preparing Business Continuity Plans;
  • Supporting the statutory and financial reporting activities of the Bank as necessary; 
  • Assisting in the compilation of the Bank’s ICAAP, ILAAP reports and Recovery Plan;
  • Review operational risk incidents and complaints and work with internal stakeholders for remediation and risk mitigation
  • Training and supporting employees to strengthen risk awareness and culture.
     
  • Requirements

  • Banking and finance / risk management related qualification at EQF 6 level from a reputable European university or equivalent; 
  • Good knowledge of Maltese and European banking legislation including Banking Rules, the Basel III Framework, CRDIV and similar; 
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role within a credit institution; 
  • Strong analytical skills and organizational abilities;  
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision; 
  • Being meticulous, attentive to detail and thorough;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications.
